Chapter 4 I'm Really a God
Chapter 4 I'm Really a God
"A deity? An ancestor of the Liu family? Or perhaps a little fraud?"
"But my family is poor, so what am I to be fooled about?"
She knows her own family's affairs best.
Although the Liu family had a prosperous past and claimed to be relatives of the Han imperial family and descendants of Prince Jing of Zhongshan, that was all according to the ancient Chinese almanac from hundreds of years ago.
By the time of her husband Liu Hong's generation, the family had already fallen on hard times.
Liu Hong was a scholar who served as a minor official in the county for a few days. He later resigned due to illness and returned home to recuperate for two years, but he did not recover and passed away.
They were left behind as orphans and widows, surviving on a few acres of meager land and by weaving mats and selling shoes.
But the child's arrival is too suspicious.
Kim Jong-un said he fell from the sky and was even carrying light.
She didn't believe it, but although Sanpang was simple-minded, he wasn't one to lie.
With doubts in her heart, Liu took Sanpang and Liu Quan back home.
The Liu family's house is located at the east end of Lousang Village, next to that big mulberry tree.
The house has two courtyards, which is considered quite large for the village.
The walls were made of blue bricks and the roofs were covered with black tiles, but they had been neglected for years. Withered grass grew on the walls and most of the paint on the gate had peeled off, giving it a shabby feel.
Upon entering the gate, there is a small courtyard paved with bluestone slabs, with moss growing in the cracks.
Directly opposite is the main hall, with two side rooms on the left and right.
The backyard has a vegetable garden, a kitchen, and a small woodshed for storing miscellaneous items.
As soon as he got home, Sanpangzi yelled that he was hungry.
His shout made Liu put aside her doubts for the time being, and she went into the kitchen to prepare the food.
Before long, she came out carrying a wooden tray with a thick stack of chive and multigrain pancakes and a bowl of meat sauce.
The pancake was made with soybean flour, wheat bran, and chopped chives. It was dark yellow and didn't look very appealing, but it tasted really good.
The meat sauce is made from cooked pig meat, mixed with fermented soybean paste to mask the gamey smell.
When Kim Jong-un saw the food, his eyes lit up and he quickly knelt down in front of the food table.
Liu Quan followed suit and knelt down as well.
Sanpang picked up a pancake and enthusiastically instructed Liu Quan on how to eat it.
"Look, little brother, just like this, spread the meat sauce on the tortilla, roll it up like this, and then take a big bite, mmm!"
Sanpang's cheeks puffed out, and he moved them vigorously, his expression one of undisguised satisfaction.
Liu Quan followed suit, rolled up a pancake, and took a bite.
The crust was a bit rough, but it was baked to a crisp.
The meat sauce is soft and tender, with a savory and fragrant flavor.
There was also the smell of chives mixed in.
good to eat!
Liu Quan's eyes lit up.
As an artificial human, Liu Quan has multiple ways to replenish his energy, including eating, sunlight, electricity, and nuclear energy.
He was expending a lot of energy at this time, and his body was also experiencing a great sense of hunger.
After finishing the multigrain pancake in their hands, the three of them picked up a second pancake, then a third, a fourth...
After Liu Sanpang finished eating the pancake in his hand, he saw that the plate was empty, as was the bowl of meat sauce. His mother was staring at Liu Quan in disbelief.
Mrs. Liu was shocked. "This child has such a huge appetite! Eight thick grain pancakes—even the strongest laborers in the village couldn't eat that much in one meal, and this child finished them all in the blink of an eye!"
"Is there anything else?" Liu Quan asked, still wanting more.
Sanpang finally snapped out of his daze, slapped his thigh, and exclaimed with admiration, "Goodness! Little brother, you can really eat! Mother always says that you need to eat more to grow taller, and you eat much more than me. You're sure to grow up to be very tall!"
He was easygoing, and although Liu Quan ate all of his pancake, he wasn't angry at all; on the contrary, he admired him greatly.
Liu Quan nodded and said seriously, "I can eat a lot, I'm still not full."
He then turned to Liu and asked, "Auntie, is there any more food?"
Liu Sanpang also said to his mother, "Mother, I'm not full yet either."
After recovering from her shock, Liu thought to herself, "My eldest son is a good-for-nothing himself, and now he's brought home another one! What are we going to do? Our family is better off than most, but we can't afford to support two good-for-nothings!"
However, she still got up and said gently, "There are four eggs in the kitchen. I just took them out of the henhouse this morning. I'll go and cook them for you."
Fifteen minutes later.
Liu Quan and Sanpang each showed off two eggs. Liu Quan was three-tenths full, while Sanpang was half full. Liu's wife smiled bitterly.
After finishing his meal, Sanpang felt sleepy.
He yawned widely, tears welling up in his eyes, and reached out to tug at Liu Quan's sleeve: "Come on, little brother, come with me to the couch to sleep."
This guy is a bit of a rascal by nature. He was a little afraid of Liu Quan when he first met him, but now that he's been calling him "brother, brother" all night, he's gotten used to it and really treats Liu Quan like his own brother.
But Liu stopped him, "Sanpang, you go to sleep first. Your mother and young master Liu still have some things to talk about."
Sanpang was so sleepy he could barely keep his eyes open. He nodded groggily, "Oh... okay... little brother, you talk to Mother for a while... I can't... I can't keep my eyes open..."
After her son left, Madam Liu's expression turned serious. "Young man, what is your name? What is your purpose in getting to know my Sanpang? Please tell me the truth."
Liu Quan smiled slightly; he had already anticipated what Liu would ask.
He didn't rush to answer, but stood up and slowly walked out of the main room.
The moonlight in the courtyard was like water, its gentle glow spreading across the ground.
Liu Quan stood in the center of the courtyard, turned around, and faced Liu Shi who had followed him out.
"Auntie, what Sanpang said is true. I am a celestial being descended to earth. If you don't believe me, please take a look."
Liu frowned, about to speak, when she suddenly froze.
The child in front of them slowly floated up, rising little by little, three feet, five feet, ten feet, and one and a half feet.
Finally, he stopped at a height of about two zhang (approximately 6.6 meters).
He hovered in mid-air, looking down at Liu Shi with a calm gaze and indifferent expression.
A bright moon hangs high behind them.
The scene was truly like a celestial being descending to earth.
Liu was dumbfounded, her mind completely blank.
She stared wide-eyed at the tiny figure suspended in mid-air, her legs trembling and her body shaking. Her knees buckled, and she almost knelt down.
It's flying! It's taking off!
If this isn't a deity, what is it?
Liu Quan paused in mid-air for about the time it takes to brew a cup of tea before slowly descending.
The moment his foot touched the ground, his body swayed slightly, as if he had exhausted all his strength.
He was truly exhausted.
That seemingly effortless levitation was actually the result of nanobots within the body creating an anti-gravity field, which consumed a significant amount of energy.
The energy he got from the pancakes and eggs he ate tonight was almost entirely consumed.
If he floats any longer, he might actually fall from the sky.
Liu Quan sighed inwardly: "It's a pity that this world doesn't have a way to quickly replenish energy like nuclear or electrical energy. I can only try to get more sun tomorrow."
Liu stood there, stunned for a long while, before slowly coming back to her senses.
She looked at Liu Quan, her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but she didn't know what to say.
Liu Quan spoke first, spouting nonsense with a blank expression:
"Auntie, I am indeed a celestial being from heaven, who has fallen to this place for some reason. I have absolutely no ill intentions towards you, you can rest assured of that."
